Do I need to be a Christian to come on an XL Holiday?
No, no, and no again! XL Holidays are open to young people of all faiths and backgrounds. But we are a Christian charity, and all our leaders are practising Christians. When you join us on an XL Holiday you understand that we'll set aside a small part of each day to share with you what we believe, and why we believe it! Regardless of your background, you'll find these times not only informative, but also fun. Make of them what you will - we promise you'll not come under any pressure from us whatsoever!

How old must I be?
That will depend totally on the individual Holiday in which you are interested. Each event will make it clear what age you must be. Exceptionally, and subject to the express approval of the Holiday leader, we may agree to some flexibility.

Can you cater for my special needs?
Hopefully, but you will need to tell us well in advance! Whether you have special dietary or physical needs we'll do all in our power to accommodate them if you tell us in enough time.

Who runs the Holidays?
Our Holidays are run by Camp XL and its volunteer staff. All of our leaders are committed Christians who give up their own holiday time to share their faith and enthusiasm with you.

What is the accommodation like?
This will vary from case to case. This year though our Holidays will be making use of fabulous boarding schools that we have rented for the purpose. Sleeping accommodation is in the school's boarding house, and this will typically mean single sex dorms holding 4-6 each.
Our leaders sleep close by, but never in the same dorm!
With whom will I be sharing a room?
Believe it or not, we used to be teens once too! And so we know that if you go on an XL Holiday together with one or more of your mates, you'll be less than thrilled if you discover when you get there that you've been separated from them and put in a room with complete strangers! So, do tell us if you'd like to share a room with someone in particular and we'll do our very best to make that happen. But, this will be far harder for us to achieve if there is a whole group of you who want to be together.
Bear in mind that one of the benefits of an XL Holiday is the chance to meet with others of the same age who share your hobbies and interests, and that sharing sleeping accommodation with others is just about the best way of making new friends.
In any event, because we do recognise that this is so important to so many of you, we promise not to spring any surprises on you. Wherever possible we'll let you know ahead of time if we've managed to put you in the same room as your mates.
Oh, and a word about our leaders. They don't really want to spend the night in your dorm any more than you want them there! We think it's best all round if they have their own, separate, dorm. But don't take that as a license to misbehave... they'll never be far away (and might even be in the adjacent room!)

How do I get to/from my Holiday?
We expect you to make your own arrangements for getting to the Holiday, and back again at the end. The cost of this is expressly not included in the Holiday price. But, we'll be more than happy to help by arranging to meet you at nearby railway station, or by putting you in touch with others who may be travelling from your town. Ask us. We'd like to make the whole experience as XLent as possible!

How do I book?
That's easy! You'll find a link at the bottom of each Holiday's web page that says "Sign me up". Click that, and an application form will appear that you can then print off. Simply fill this in, enclose a deposit cheque for £25 and send it off to us at the address you'll see on the same form. You'll hear back from us in a few days to confirm your booking.

What about insurance?
Camp XL carries public liability insurance which will provide you with compensation if you are injured or your property is damaged under certain situations (full details available by contacting our office). But this cover will not protect your valuables from 'routine' careless loss or accidental damage. Please therefore make sure that any personal items you intend to bring on Holiday are covered by your own insurance. Start by checking your home contents policy, as this will in all likelihood provide some degree of cover for items such as cameras
