Thanks to our close friends at Richmond Holidays, the great UK Christian holiday company, we'll be heading off to the Swiss Alps again this coming Easter - and if you’re aged 12-18 we'd love for you to join us.
Whether you fancy skiing or snowboarding, whether you’re experienced or a complete novice, you’re assured of one amazing week that you'll remember quite possibly for ever! Seriously, don't worry if you have never skiied before, as our great instructors will get you on your skis/board in no time, and you'll be learning (and laughing) alongside others in our group.
The days are choc-full of fun, thrills and laughter on the slopes, and the evenings are loaded with even more fun - and amazing food - down in the chalet in the pretty resort village of Adelboden. Oh, and we'll take a little time together each evening too to look at the Bible and see what it is that Christians believe, and why.
Check out some pics of last year's amazing week.
Important: Snowtime is packaged and provided by Richmond Holidays. If you register, you will be a customer of Richmond - just like the Camp XL leaders who will be accompanying you.
Oh, and if you’re looking for a ski holiday for the entire family, then check out Richmond's great weeks in the French resort of Reberty, as well as their summer offerings too!
What if I can't yet ski or snowboard?
No worries! We'll arrange for qualified instructors to get you up on your feet in no time. Being part of a group like this is a great and fun way to learn, so whether you are an expert, or have never skied/boarded before, Snowtime is for you.
What does the price include?
Just about everything. The price covers you for lift passes, equipment rental, lessins where needed, accommodation, food and return travel to/from Heathrow,London.
The only extras you will need in addition to what is proved are ski wear (if you do not own your own, then you can almost certainly ask around and borrow from a friend a school). And if you already own your own boots or skis/snowboard, such that you do not need to hire any, then we'll be able to offer you a reduction in price. Just ask us. You'll also need to have winter sports insurance (see below), though many families already have this in their standard travel policies.
Do I need extra insurance?
Yes - you do. Camp XL is covered by public liability insurance (ask us for details of this is you need to), but that won't pay for any medical expenses in the event that you have an accident out there. This is typically called "Winter Sports" cover. You'll you'll be required to show proof of cover for this before you travel with us - but you will also have the option of arranging this through our office as part of a group policy that will cover others in our party.
You'll also need to have a valid EHIC card which will give you access to basic outpatient services there in case you fall ill.
Will my money be safe?
Snowtime is packaged and provided by Richmond Holidays. As your holiday includes flights, the entire holiday cost is protected for you under Richmond's ATOL cover. Should the unthinkable happen and the holiday be cancelled, you'll not lose a penny. Ask us if you'd like to understand morer about this.
What if I am not a Christian?
No problem! All of Camp XL's programmes are open to young people from all faiths and backgrounds.
We'll make sure we give you as much time as we safely can in the snow, then each evening we'll take some time to learn together what it is that Christians believe - and why. Make of these brief times what you will, but we're confident you'll find them stimulating as well as entertaining.
The Venue & Accommodation
We're taking over a lovely chalet on the edge of the picturesque village of Adelboden, where you'll sleep in a small dorm alongside 4-6 others (same sex, of course!) on a proper full sized bed.
Adelboden is the perfect venue for a ski camp such as ours. Although it hosts the Word Cup Slalom circuit each year, it remains largely unknown by the packs of Ski tourists - and this means there is usually very little waiting time for chairlifts. But with over 170km of runs to suit all abilities, and a high level glacier to virtually assure us of snow in even the worst season, it's hard to beat.
